Morning
The scouts are just getting up, it's benn a bit of a wet night better, most of the stuff is dry though.
We're just about to get breakfast, and then it will be activity start. Today's forecast is heavy showers possibly easing later. More later connection permitting.

End of day 2
We've had some opening games, a Subcamp opening and a main camp opening. Today's evening meal was spaghetti Bolognese. Tomorrow's activities are sports, more tomorrow (flaky) internet connection permitting.
Opening games
Just had the opening games, and we are now just about to start getting the evening meal ready. At the moment the good weather has left us and we have some light rain although hopefuly it should soon pass
Morning
While Melbourne were delayed at Birmingham waiting for the storm to pass, Eccleshall had a slightly different experience. As the plane was over booked they were split into two groups. One group made it to schippol, the other almost made it. Due to the storm their aircraft had to make a last minute abort of the landing at schiphol while trying to land amongst some extreme turbulence. Just as they were about to land a huge gust took the aircraft ave sent it sideways. At this point the pilot throttled up the engines, and they diverted to brussels, where they stayed for a while before returning to Amsterdam.
There was a further wait for all of us at Schippol as the camp was holding scouts at the airport waiting for the storm to move on,
As a result we were late on site, and late getting the tents up.
The weather this morning is sunny and relatively calm. more later.
Tents up
Tents are up, more tommorow including eccleshall scouts dramatic flight and aborted landing at schiphol before ending up in belgium.

On the bus to the camp
On the bus to the camp, loads to do when we get there so this may be the last update for a while
Just landed
It's raining in Amsterdam, but not as bad as it was earlier. As schiphol has just re opened after the storm we are having to wait a little while on the aircraft. Hopefully not too long
