Started with an early morning meet at the Scout +guide HQ at 6am and not long after having our photos taken for the local paper ( village voice)
We were soon aboard the minibus heading for our scheduled Flybe flight to Amsterdam departing at 08:45(or so we thought)
After clearing check in, and making to the departure lounge in good time we were soon gretted with this
Not too bad, only an hour, however flybe would soon ensure this would soon change again and it wasnt until 11:30am that we finaly boarded, in this time we were given a food voucher form Flybe, and the Scouts managed to find the Burger king at EMA, The Scouts didnt seem to fussed over this delay, meanwhile Dave, and myself had flashbacks to the previous Haarlem Jamborette in 2015, when we were delayed at Birmingham Airport for a few hours, as in intense summer storm with winds gusting upto 90mph ripped through the campsite ( scroll through this blog for details on that from 2015!!) Fortunalty this was an airline related delay, and the sun was shining at our destination
Once boarded the rest of the journey out was pretty much un eventful, plane, Schiphol airport, bus to campsite
It didnt take long to set up, and Soon it was time for the first leaders meeting in the Subcamp tent, with details of the next day ( the critter sitting on the luggage belt is Banjo, the Beaver mascot )
And then setting up the routine, the first trip to the Mokkie:
And that was pretty much it - Day 2 recap to follow......
