Monday 5th August Recap

Day 10..... Monday 5t august
 Jambo Tours- Walibi World.
Walibi World is a Theme park in Holland, and not a wildlife centre dedicated to jumping marsupials
Website:Walibi Holland (english) website

The day started slightly earlier as we had to be at the bus point by Gate C early, after a visit to  the subcamp food supply tent/fridge to stock up on our breakfast items, and make sandwiches to take to the theme park we were soon on the bus

The bus journey was just over an hour, and even though it was an early start, and getting on towards the end of the camp the bus going was a little more lively than some of the other trips out ( probably had something to do with visiting a theme park)

Once inside the park, we headed to the first coaster, Brand new ( almost) opening just a month before we visited was Untamed, This is whats known as an RMC conversion it started out as a Vekoma manufactured wooden coaster called Robin hood it wasnt a bad coaster, but then again it wasnt exceptional - just a little rough.
Over last winter the ride was re furbished with a new layout, and new track, by RMC ( look out for coasters modified by this company if travelling anywhere)

Lost Gravity

Towards the end of the Queue lines at Walibi are some clear boxes, these contain broken phones etc that have been recovered from the rides, that have either been dropped or have fallen out of pockets

Express platform 13,  the Queue line takes the form of a scare maze as you walk through a semi derelict /demolished railway station with wreckage everywhere, and special effects, the coaster itself ( apart form the launch) is pretty average, its not often you get a queue line thats better than the coaster

To get round the park, you will find a few little shortcuts, such as this raft which you pull yourself along using a rope

Some of us then went onto the log flume, which features a section that goes backwards,

Dave was the only one to get soaked, everyone else escaped with a few splashes

All too soon it was time to head back for the bus, all the Scouts made it back on time, and on the return journey we had a film, Zootopia, (in English with Dutch subtitles)

When the film had finished the Scouts soon flaked out

This is the Subcamp phone charging station, phones left at own risk!!! if using the charge station, i would strongly recomend that you do not charge a phone here, but instead use it to charge a powerbank

And the usual leaders meeting, now focusing on the end of the camp, departures and so on :(

The Mokkie on the other hand was as lively as ever, open up to 11pm for all (ie Scouts / under 18's) and then from 11:10 to 1:15am for over 18's only

The next day, would be the final day of Activities at the 2019 Haarlem Jamborette, and would see us on Arts, Crafts and Technology, before the main Closing and end disco
