Updates - 28th Feb 2011
Posted 28th Feb 2011
If your not already aware, we (1st Melbourne ) will be camping with 1st Eccleshall Scouts, and Madla speidergruppe ( from Stavanger, in Norway ) at the Haarlem Jamborette.
We have previously camped with 1st Eccleshall Scouts ( and their leaders) in Norway, in 2006, and 2009, and also at various other Scout ( and Cub ) Camps.
in 2010 Eccleshall Scouts went on a three week Expedition to Abakan in Russia (Siberia.)
We have also Camped with, and been hosted by the Norwegain Scouts in 2004 at Phasels wood (UK) at Hundvag (Norway 2006) and in Norway (Oltsvik /Stavanger) in 2009, Dave has known the Leaders and camped with them many times before then.
Back to Holland....
Activities, the activities programme has been updated and is available here I am going to take a guess and say that its likely that we will be on subcamp Haarlem A. You can read more about the activities on the main website.
Food: ingredients for all meals are provided by the campsite, from the subcamp food tent. All we have to do is prepare/cook the food on our campsite. The offsite activity's usualy last all day, and when we are on those, the Scouts (and leaders) will make a packed lunch to take with them. unlike UK camps( peak/poacher/chamboree etc ) the camp asks for leaders to accompany/supervise Scouts on these activity's.

Coming soon....
Welcome to the blog site for our planned Summer camp at the Haarlem Jamborette in Holland.
We will be camping with Madla speidergruppe from Norway, and if all goes to plan Eccleshall Scouts will be joining us as well.
This blog will contain information about the camp, fund-raising (at Melbourne) and any other bits and bobs that come along.
while we are in Holland the blog will also be updated with information and ( posibly )photos of what we have been up to, similar to previous camp blogs.
The background photo of this blog shows our camp area at the 2007 jamborette, or an aerial view from google earth ( as im currently experimenting with the layout )
During the early stages of this blog there will also be 'test' postings from various devices that i will/may have access to in Holland to update this blog remotely.
